We are a non-profit social/educational club that meets to learn, discuss and teach anything in the area of lapidary arts and gemology, This area includes minerals, fossils, cutting and polishing stones. In addition, we create jewelry from our handcrafted cabochons and gemstones using silversmith and wire wrapping techniques. We also, at times, have intartia, chase & repousse, and stained glass classes.
Benefits include the right to participate in classes; use equipment; enjoy discounts from club sponsors; association with others interested in lapidary/mineral collection and jewelry making; the ability to buy or trade for minerals, fossils and gem quality slabs; attend field trips; participation in gem shows; the ability to learn and pass on knowledge to others including our future rock hounds; and finally comradeship.
